The Atlanta Falcons dominated the New Orleans Saints 45-24 at the Superdome, building a 24-7 halftime lead and dropping the Saints to 1-3. Saints quarterback Tyler Shough said fans were justified in booing, called the loss disappointing and embarrassing, and said the offense—starting with him—needed to improve; coach Kellen Moore acknowledged Atlanta played better. The defeat came on the 20th anniversary of the Superdome’s celebrated reopening, making the loss an especially disappointing night for Saints fans.
