Rams’ Receiver Depth Faces Production Concerns
The Rams have struggled to play consistently, with penalties, turnovers and special-teams mistakes undermining otherwise strong offense and defense, while Matthew Stafford has been less efficient and has thrown frequently. Injuries at tight end have disrupted the team’s planned use of heavier personnel: against Philadelphia, Los Angeles used 11 personnel on 88% of snaps, but second-round pick Max Klare played only once. That shift also exposed a lack of production from the third wide receiver, and the Rams passed on several veteran options before Odell Beckham Jr. joined Minnesota’s practice squad. The earlier trade of tight end Mark Redman to Green Bay has drawn scrutiny as injuries have thinned the position and Redman has earned a role with the Packers. Ahead of a matchup with Buffalo, the Rams could test a Bills pass defense that has struggled with coverage communication, though Buffalo may counter by pressuring Stafford.
