49ers Release Matthew Judon From Practice Squad
The San Francisco 49ers released defensive end Matthew “Matt” Judon from their practice squad after one game, in which he recorded one tackle in 14 snaps. His departure made room for Ogbo Okoronkwo to return to the practice squad and be elevated for Sunday’s game against Seattle after Mykel Williams was activated from the reserve/PUP list while returning from an ACL injury. The 49ers also elevated tight end Jack Stoll for the Seattle matchup because fullback Kyle Juszczyk was unavailable. Separately, amid injuries at wide receiver, San Francisco released Dante Pettis from injured reserve with an injury settlement after he was hurt in practice shortly after rejoining the team, and added Xavier Smith to its practice squad.
