Ben Simmons Makes Kings Preseason Debut

Ben Simmons made his Sacramento Kings preseason debut against Golden State, his first NBA action since 2025, scoring seven points in nine minutes before sitting out the rest of the game. Rookie Darius Acuff Jr., Sacramento’s No. 7 pick and expected starting point guard, said Simmons’ speed, leadership and presence would allow him to play more off the ball. Acuff has shown promise as a scorer and creator, including a 19-point, four-assist outing, but had a difficult game against the Lakers, finishing with 12 points, one assist, two steals and a block while shooting 4-for-15. The shorthanded Kings are still evaluating their roster, and Simmons may initially come off the bench when the regular season begins.
