Florida Flips Five-Star WR Easton Royal
Five-star New Orleans receiver Easton Royal flipped his 2027 commitment from Texas to Florida after being pledged to the Longhorns for nearly a year, giving new Gators coach Jon Sumrall a major recruiting win and leaving Texas with a significant gap to fill. Florida prevailed over LSU after Royal made multiple visits to Gainesville, where he said the program’s energy, offensive approach, coaching staff and family atmosphere stood out. Royal is among the nation’s top receiver prospects and is known for his speed and versatility; he also plans to run track at Florida. He joins offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller as Florida’s second five-star commitment in the class.
