Jordan Jersey Sets $14 Million Memorabilia Record
A red road jersey worn by Michael Jordan in Game 2 of the 1998 NBA Finals sold privately for $14 million, a basketball memorabilia record announced by Hunt Auctions on October 12, 2026. Miami real estate investor Ron Firman bought it. Outlets across the spectrum report the same price, buyer, and record with no disputed facts. Jordan wore the jersey June 5, 1998 as the Chicago Bulls beat the Utah Jazz 93-88 to even the series. Chicago won in six games for Jordan’s sixth and final title. He scored 37 points in Game 2 and 45 in the clincher. The sale is second only to Babe Ruth’s $24.12 million game-worn jersey and tops the prior basketball mark of $12.26 million for a white Jordan jersey from Game 3 of the same Finals. It is at least the third 1998 Finals Jordan jersey to clear $10 million. David Hunt of Hunt Auctions said Jordan’s market has “escalated to an elite asset class more typically reserved for iconic works of art.” MeiGray and SIA photo-matched the Game 2 wear; the jersey left the Bulls to a private collector in 2003 and changed hands once since.
