Dodgers Weigh Benching Ohtani, Trail Brewers 0-2

The Dodgers fell 7-4 to the Brewers in Game 2 of the NLCS, leaving Los Angeles down 0-2 as the series moves to Dodger Stadium. Their four runs came with help from Milwaukee mistakes, and the Dodgers managed only three hits; Shohei Ohtani went 0-for-4 and Will Smith also continued to struggle at the plate. Ohtani’s slump has extended beyond the postseason, and his at-bats have appeared uncomfortable, prompting questions about his health and whether he should be moved down in the order or benched. Manager Dave Roberts said he planned to talk with Ohtani about what is best for the player and the team, but the Dodgers have made no formal decision about his playing time.
