State-Backed Quantum Hub Opens in New Haven
QuantumCT has opened a 4,500-square-foot innovation hub at 101 College St. in New Haven, bringing together Yale and University of Connecticut researchers, students, entrepreneurs and businesses to advance quantum research, workforce training and startup development. The opening is part of an effort to establish Connecticut as a national center for quantum technology and turn research into commercial products and jobs; the initiative has received $15 million from the National Science Foundation and could qualify for up to $160 million over 10 years if it meets progress benchmarks. Connecticut has also committed state funding to the sector, while plans for a nearby lab building could provide space for companies. The hub’s launch reflects broader competition among U.S. regions to build quantum technology clusters.
