State Fair Extends Free Student Tickets to Weekends
The State Fair of Texas has expanded free admission tickets for pre-K through eighth-grade students in participating school districts within 100 miles of Fair Park, allowing them to be used on any day—including weekends—through the fair’s final day, Oct. 18. The tickets were traditionally valid only on weekdays; the fair said early-season inclement weather disrupted family plans, and feedback from parents and educators prompted the change. Parents and other adults still need paid admission, with a $5 discount available to parents who buy tickets online. The fair also offers other discounts, including reduced admission for everyone after 5 p.m. daily.
