Swiatek 10th, seeks WTA Finals berth

Iga Swiatek is in danger of missing the WTA Finals for the first time since 2020, sitting 10th in the qualifying standings with four of eight places still open. The six-time Grand Slam champion has won one title this season and has not advanced past the quarterfinals at a major, but says she is motivated to make a strong finish. She is scheduled to play in Wuhan, Ningbo and Tokyo as she pursues qualification; Swiatek also credits recent work with coach Francisco Roig with improving her game.
