Thailand wins four medals, ends 64-year badminton wait
Thailand made a strong showing at the 2026 Asian Games, with Kunlavut Vitidsarn ending the country’s 64-year wait for an individual badminton gold by winning the men’s singles title. Thai athletes also won gold in men’s sepak takraw and PUBG Mobile, where the team finished ahead of China and Pakistan, and in team eventing, with Woraphat Sittiju adding an individual silver. A mixed 4x100-meter relay silver contributed to Thailand’s four-medal haul on September 29, bringing its overall total to 33 medals—12 gold, nine silver and 12 bronze—and placing it fifth in the standings.
