Trump Posts ‘Voting in America is CORRUPT’

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to declare “Voting in America is CORRUPT.”
Trump’s words were posted Sunday when he commented on Brazil’s presidential election as well as attacked the way ballots are counted in the United States.
Trump ally Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro, came out ahead of incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Brazil’s first round.
Bolsonaro took about 47% of the valid vote to Lula’s roughly 45%. Since neither cleared the 50% threshold required for an outright victory, the two men will be in an Oct. 25 runoff.
Trump offered no evidence for his claim of corruption but said Brazil’s results were available “shortly after the vote closed, on the SAME DAY!”
Trump pointed out Detroit, Philadelphia and California, claiming that officials in Democratic-controlled jurisdictions “take weeks to Rig” elections before concluding: “Voting in America is CORRUPT!!!”
Brazil operates a nationwide electronic voting system that allows results to be tabulated and transmitted quickly after polls close.
The U.S., on the other hand, has elections under different state laws, including varying rules governing when mail ballots can be processed and counted. Those differences can cause complete results to take longer in some jurisdictions.
Trump has repeatedly attacked mail-in voting and pushed for tighter federal election rules ahead of the November midterms.
