Trump and Xi Meet at White House as Iran Claims China Backing
Ambassador Perdue said Trump raised the issue in Oval Office talks with Xi on September 24, Xi's first Washington visit in over a decade.

A YouTube video posted by Cash Jordan titled "Iran Brags “CHINA’S GOT US”… Trump Tells Xi “WATCH THIS”,” The channel’s description calls the White House talks between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping a high-stakes meeting and says the world is waiting to see how the Persian Gulf will change once it ends.

Reuters reported the hardest public claim tied to that framing. US Ambassador to China David Perdue said Friday that Trump told Xi during candid White House talks that Chinese help for Iran is unacceptable. The two leaders met in the Oval Office on September 24, 2026. PBS News noted it was Xi’s first trip to Washington in more than a decade. The Washington Post said Trump had greeted Xi earlier at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, with a military brass band and a B-2 stealth bomber flyover part of the welcome.
ABC News reported that Trump and Melania Trump then greeted Xi and Peng Liyuan on the South Lawn with a silent drill platoon review. Xi confirmed he was there to “carry on our friendship” and announced that two pandas would arrive at a US zoo soon. “China, US cooperation may not solve every problem in the world, but without our cooperation, it would be hard to solve many of the world’s problems,” Xi said, according to ABC. Trump said decisions on security, technology and what he called super intelligence “can promote peace and prosperity for decades and decades to come.” He said he wanted artificial intelligence “to leave it exactly where it is” and added, “That is China’s position also.” Xi replied that the two countries must “ensure that the development of AI is always under human control.” A State Dinner was scheduled for Thursday night, with leaders of US AI companies and tech executives expected to attend. PBS said the leaders delivered remarks amid uncertainty over press pool access.
Taiwan and trade sat beside Iran on the agenda. China’s defence ministry spokesperson Jiang Bin said the Taiwan question “is the most important in China-US relations and maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait is the greatest common issue of the two countries,” and warned Washington to take “extreme caution” over arms sales. The Trump administration had approved an $11 billion Taiwan arms package in December; a second package worth about $14 billion has been held up for months. Trump called that second package a “very good negotiating chip,” ABC reported. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said China and the United States would continue their trade truce for another two months.
