Two Strangers Discovered They Were Sisters

Samantha Rensvold grew up knowing she was adopted and that somewhere out there, she had a younger biological sister she had never met. While Samantha was playing, a teammate noticed that Kyann Dean, a player on another team, looked almost exactly like her. The similarities quickly became impossible to ignore: both were softball players with remarkably similar playing styles, and both also played volleyball in the same position while wearing number 6. But the biggest clue was Kyann’s name. When Samantha told her mother about the girl, she immediately recognized Kyann as the name Samantha’s biological mother had given her daughter at birth. Their families then compared details, including their biological mother and birth hospital, and everything matched. After growing up separately without knowing each other, Samantha and Kyann had somehow ended up at the same softball tournament. They didn’t even feel a DNA test was necessary.
