Vonn named to US ski team, return uncertain
Lindsey Vonn has been named to the U.S. Alpine ski team for the 2026–27 World Cup season, despite a lengthy recovery from a severe crash at the 2026 Winter Olympics that fractured her tibia and led to multiple surgeries. Her place on the roster reflects her qualification under the team’s established criteria, but does not mean she is expected to compete this season. Vonn has said she does not plan to return before the 2027–28 season, with further surgery and rehabilitation ahead. If she resumes racing, she is eligible for a special World Cup wildcard.
