Chicago expects unseasonable weekend highs near 80

Chicago and nearby areas are in for an unusually warm, mostly sunny weekend, with highs around 80°F on Saturday and the mid-to-upper 70s Sunday; Saturday’s forecast calls for high clouds and generally dry conditions. A few showers or isolated storms remain possible, especially southeast of Interstate 55 and in parts of central Illinois, but most locations are expected to stay dry. Mild weather continues into early next week, with temperatures rising into the low-to-mid 80s Monday before showers and a more substantial cooldown are possible later in the week.
