WHYY Names Vigeant WPSU General Manager

WHYY has named public media executive Fred Vigeant general manager of WPSU, effective Oct. 26, after completing its acquisition of the Penn State-owned station on Oct. 1. Vigeant will oversee WPSU’s radio, television and digital services across central and northern Pennsylvania; the station will retain its name and call letters and remain locally focused and run. He joins from WITF in Harrisburg, where he was vice president and chief audience officer, and previously spent 12 years at WRVO in New York. The appointment comes as WHYY takes on WPSU to preserve public media service in the region, with searches underway for additional leadership roles.
