Trump Reveals 2 Rivers Safe From Being Renamed

There are two waterways safe from being renamed by President Donald Trump — the Mississippi River and the Hudson River.
Trump, while speaking at a Saturday rally in Clarksville, Tennessee, revealed he wants to change the name of an ocean and a river by the time he leaves office in 2028.
His admiration for the English explorer whom the Hudson is named after and his love for Mississippi make those rivers safe, he said.
“We’ve got the Gulf, we’ve got a beautiful lake, and now somebody said, ‘You need a river,'” Trump said. “I don’t want to change the name of the Hudson River. Henry Hudson, he did a good job sailing up that sucker a long time ago.”
“So we need a river and we need an ocean. So I was thinking either the Atlantic or the Pacific. We call it Trump Ocean, or Ocean of the Americas. Something like that,” he continued. “No, before I get out, I think we should have an ocean and we need a great river. Now, I’m not changing the name of the Mississippi. I love Miss. We won that state by so much.”
Trump rebranded the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America early in his second term. That was followed by changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America. That happened after a Canada-USA trade deal collapsed at the last minute.
Google and Apple officially changed the name on their maps apps soon after, and the president rubbed it in by posting an AI video of himself kicking over a sign reading “Lake Ontario” in August.
