Red Sox, Orioles Benches Clear After Hard Slide
Baltimore’s Blaze Alexander sparked a benches-clearing incident with the Boston Red Sox after a hard slide into second base, with Alexander insisting it was a clean slide and noting he was stared at, while Nick Sogard said the play itself wasn’t a problem. The 1-0 decision went to Boston on a Mickey Gasper solo homer, and the melee produced no immediate ejections as both teams traded competitive postures with Alexander hoping the moment would rally the Orioles.
