About Blue Swords
The Blue Swords Cup was an annual figure skating competition first organized by the Ice Skating Association of East Germany, and then by the German Ice Skating Union after the reunification of Germany. Originally called the DELV-Pokal (Deutscher Eislauf-Verband-Pokal; Cup of the German Figure Skating Club), the first competition took place in 1961 in Dresden. The Blue Swords Cup was held every year from 1961 to 1996, after which point it was incorporated into the new ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating series.
