Carter Jensen falls a single shy of cycle as Royals avoid sweep of Marlins
Carter Jensen continued to surge for the Royals, homering twice in one game and coming a stolen-base short of the cycle while also setting a single-season Royals leadoff home run record and driving in multiple runs as Kansas City beat the Marlins to avoid a sweep. On the anniversary of his MLB debut, Jensen's rapid rise as the Royals’ top-of-order threat is highlighted as the team leans on him, with rookie catcher duties and a season that has produced both highs and lows, alongside Jac Caglianone earning AL Player of the Month.
