Citigroup Q3 Profit Jumps 40%
Citigroup’s third-quarter profit rose 40% year over year to about $5.2 billion, beating analyst expectations as revenue reached a decade-high for the quarter, supported by growth in services, wealth management and investment banking. Fixed-income trading had its strongest third quarter in at least a decade, though overall trading was weaker than the previous quarter, particularly in equities.
