Red Sox beat Marlins 4-2 in Miami
The Miami Marlins were aggressive on the bases but hurt themselves with key outs and missed opportunities, including a late throw-home play and multiple runners left on base in a setback to the Red Sox, as manager Clayton McCullough stressed continued emphasis on tenacious baserunning. Ace Sandy Alcantara delivered his usual high-quality start, seven innings of one-run ball, but the offense went 2-for-18 with runners in scoring position and the bullpen failed late, leaving Miami with a series-opening loss.
