About Clodia
Clodia was a Roman patrician and member of the Claudia gens. As the wife of Quintus Caecilius Metellus Celer and sister of Publius Clodius Pulcher she was involved in Roman politics. She was the chief prosecution witness in Marcus Caelius Rufus's trial. All contemporary sources for her come from Cicero and it is believed that the poet Catullus based the character Lesbia on her.
