Lanterns reveals John Stewart's father was Guardians' first choice before Hal Jordan
The DCU series Lanterns adopts a True Detective–style, grounded detective premise, focusing on John Stewart’s origin and the hidden Manhunter mystery while revealing Hal Jordan’s uneasy role as Earth’s veteran Lantern and the Guardians’ involvement in selecting successors. Critics are debating Hal’s portrayal, which threads through Parallax backstory implications, and the show emphasizes a practical, tactile Hal Jordan costume as part of a broader shift to a more grounded aesthetic.

About DC Studios
DC Studios was a video game developer based in Montreal, Canada. Founded by Mark Greenshields in December 1999, it was originally located in Glasgow, and later expanded to Montreal, Edinburgh, and Dublin. Following the underperformance of State of Emergency 2, which the company had acquired from VIS Entertainment, DC Studios closed its Scotland operations in June 2006. The remaining Montreal office was closed in September 2007. Both offices were replaced by ones for Greenshields' newer venture, Firebrand Games.
