About Gordon MacDonald
Gordon J. MacDonald is an American lawyer and jurist who served as the 37th chief justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court from March 4, 2021 until his resignation on September 15th, 2026. A Republican, he previously served as the 30th attorney general of New Hampshire from 2017 to 2021 and, before entering public office, was a congressional chief of staff, a federal appellate law clerk, and a commercial-litigation partner at Nixon Peabody LLP.
