Phillies Reinstate Banks From Injured List, Option Holman to Triple-A
Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Tanner Banks was reinstated from the 60-day injured list ahead of Sunday’s game against the Braves, returning from a left forearm strain and carrying an 0-4 record with a 7.14 ERA in 28 appearances. To clear a spot on the 40-man roster, infielder Christian Cairo was designated for assignment, with Grant Holman optioned to Triple-A after his MLB debut and Cairo’s status noted as depth if unclaimed.
