Diamondbacks Claim Jesús Sánchez Off Waivers
Arizona claimed Jesús Sánchez off waivers from the Blue Jays after Toronto designated him for assignment, leaving him ineligible for postseason play if the Diamondbacks reach the playoffs. Sánchez had a .260/.734 with 8 home runs in 99 games this season and was criticized for defensive lapses, with Toronto having acquired him in a trade for Joey Loperfido earlier in the year.
