Sundowns end Pirates’ MTN8 reign; Ouaddou explains Appollis benching
Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou said he benched Oswin Appollis in the MTN8 final as part of a plan to use him as a second-half impact player, drawing on his success as a substitute in last season’s final. Pirates lost 2–0 to Mamelodi Sundowns, and conceding early disrupted the plan as they chased the game.
