Albuquerque man charged with murder after deadly fight over spicy enchiladas
Ervin Joaquin Gutierrez, 22, was arrested and charged with open murder after a family gathering in Albuquerque ended with the fatal shooting of his cousin Nathaniel Cavazos during a dispute over the spiciness of green chile enchiladas. Authorities say Cavazos was shot multiple times as he walked away after a confrontation, and Gutierrez allegedly shouted, “We’re family” before firing; he later surrendered to police.
