China Approves Visa Card-Clearing Preparations
China’s central bank approved Visa to begin preparations for a locally registered bankcard clearing institution, a step that could let the company directly settle domestic yuan transactions and compete in China’s payments market. Visa has one year to complete its preparations and called the approval a milestone in its long-term commitment to China.
