Waldschmidt Walk-Off Lifts D-backs Past Cubs
Rookie outfielder Ryan Waldschmidt delivered a walk-off two-run homer as a pinch hitter in the ninth to lift the Arizona Diamondbacks past the Chicago Cubs, making him the first rookie to hit two walk-off homers while trailing in the same calendar month. The win capped a four-run rally and highlighted the D-backs’ season of dramatic comebacks, with Waldschmidt’s late heroics following an earlier walk-off against the Dodgers and contributing to a broader momentum for the club.
