49ers thin injury-hit defensive line, replace Okuayinonu with Kareem

San Francisco signed veteran defensive end Khalid Kareem and placed Sam Okuayinonu on injured reserve, adding depth to the edge rotation as the 49ers head to Melbourne to face the Rams. Okuayinonu is out for the season opener with a foot injury, leaving Nick Bosa and Keion White as the top edge pair with Kareem stepping in behind them.
