Tharman Shanmugaratnam is a Singaporean politician and economist who has served as the ninth president of Singapore since 2023. A former member of the People's Action Party (PAP), he served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Taman Jurong of Jurong Group Representation Constituency (GRC) from 2001 to 2023.
