A driver died and two passengers were seriously injured when a vehicle struck a concrete wall in the center median of Zanker Road near Daggett Drive in North San Jose around 3:26 a.m. Thursday. The passengers were hospitalized and later stabilized; the driver’s identity has not been released. Police are investigating the cause, and road closures were in place near the crash. The death brings San Jose’s traffic fatality count to 40 this year, compared with 28 at the same point in 2025.
