Baxter Suspect Charged; Spokane Stabbing Suspect Arrested

A 23-year-old Baxter Springs man, Tramone Howard-Hill, is being held without bond on a charge of attempted first-degree murder after investigators said evidence from a weekend stabbing established probable cause for the charge. The victim, who suffered multiple stab wounds, has improved from critical to stable condition and is recovering. Authorities say Howard-Hill fled before officers arrived and was later arrested north of Baxter Springs; he also had an outstanding warrant for electronic solicitation of a child. Investigators described the stabbing as targeted and said there is no threat to the public.
