Bridgeman’s 63 Leads PGA Tour’s Japan Stop
Jacob Bridgeman opened the Baycurrent Classic in Japan with a bogey-free 8-under 63, taking a one-shot lead over Jordan Smith. The round came shortly after Bridgeman made the clinching putt in the U.S. Presidents Cup victory; despite limited practice and time off for his sister’s wedding, he said he felt rusty but scored well by keeping the ball in manageable positions. Smith, in his first full PGA Tour season after moving from the DP World Tour, shot 64, while Max Homa and three others were three strokes behind Bridgeman. The tournament features the strongest field of the FedEx Cup Fall and includes 13 players from the Presidents Cup.
