Caregiving Support Expands Across Regions
New programs and services are expanding support for older adults, people with disabilities and family caregivers. In Virginia, Valley Program for Aging Services offers twice-monthly dementia support sessions and a free caregiver conference with practical resources and workshops. Hanoi’s 2026 resolution prioritizes public elder-care facilities, community daytime care and clubs, workforce training, and a wider range of private and home-based services. Assisted living can also support older adults’ health and reduce isolation through daily activities, meals, health care and social connection. Oregon has introduced Agency with Choice, a Medicaid option that helps eligible adults manage the recruitment, training, scheduling and supervision of in-home care providers while receiving services at home.
