Dakotas Forecast Showers, Broad Temperature Range

Forecasts across North Dakota and South Dakota call for generally mild to warm, mostly sunny weather during much of the period, with highs ranging from the 60s in parts of North Dakota to the 70s and lower 80s farther south. Breezy conditions are expected at times, particularly with southerly winds in eastern South Dakota and gusts that could reach 35 to 40 mph. A cooler, cloudier pattern is forecast to develop around Sunday and Columbus Day, bringing chances of showers; some areas, especially farther west and north, could see rain mix with snow. Overnight lows are expected to fall into the 30s in parts of North Dakota and South Dakota as the colder weather arrives.
