Film Events Pair Screenings With Dining, Food Advocacy
Film events are using food both as an immersive attraction and as a subject for storytelling. Bermuda’s “The Edible Movie” paired a screening of Ratatouille with a synchronized, multi-course menu inspired by the film. At the Newport Beach Film Festival, a culinary series includes California Roll: The Rise of American Sushi, which traces sushi’s growth in the United States, alongside films about wine, farming, chefs who served dictators and a Spanish restaurant’s culinary history. In Vancouver, Food Stash Foundation is marking its 10th anniversary with a screening of Just Eat It: A Food Waste Story, which follows filmmakers trying to live on food that would otherwise be discarded.
