Fond du Lac Man Faces 16 Charges, $1.5M Bail in Homicide Plot

A 42-year-old Fond du Lac man, Justin A. Hamilton, faces 16 charges, including two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, in an alleged plot to kill his wife and the man authorities say was her romantic partner. According to the criminal complaint, Hamilton assaulted and confined his wife, forced her to buy a firearm, and planned to shoot the pair; police allegedly found him nearby with a loaded gun and a knife. A judge set cash bail at $1.5 million, and Hamilton’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 5. Prosecutors say additional charges or enhancements may follow.
