Head-on crashes kill three in Georgia, Nebraska
Two separate head-on crashes were reported. In Putnam County, Georgia, a vehicle traveling the wrong way on U.S. 441 collided with another vehicle Friday night, killing one person and injuring the other driver; the victims had not been publicly identified, and the crash remained under investigation. In Merrick County, Nebraska, an eastbound Ford Focus crossed into the westbound lane of Highway 30 Thursday afternoon and collided with a Chevrolet Malibu, killing both drivers. Authorities said seat belts were in use and did not believe alcohol or speed contributed to the Nebraska crash.
