LSU Student Arrested in Alleged Rapes of Two
LSU student Ty’Juan Bovie, 26, was arrested and booked on two counts of third-degree rape and two counts of unlawfully buying alcohol for people under 21 after alleged assaults at his campus apartment. According to arrest records, Bovie bought alcohol for a female and a male student, and the group drank before both students allegedly became incapacitated. The woman told investigators Bovie raped her despite her efforts to push him away, then assaulted her friend; she recorded part of the second incident, which police reviewed during the investigation. Investigators said Bovie acknowledged neither student verbally consented and admitted the second victim was incapacitated. LSU said the victims worked with campus police and were referred to support resources; bail had not been set in reports.
