Maine Animal Center Plans Poland Closure

Mr. Drew and His Animals Too will permanently close its animal education center in Poland, Maine, on Oct. 31. Owner Drew Desjardins and his wife say the costs of relocating from Lewiston, along with their age and the demands of running the center, made it unsustainable; they are not seeking donations to keep it open. They plan to return to a travel-based model, continuing educational programs around Maine and honoring previously booked appearances. Some animals will remain with the family and take part in outreach, while others will go to trusted educational facilities or sanctuaries; the couple says none will be euthanized or offered for public adoption.
