Man Sentenced to 82 Months for Casino Kidnapping Attempt

Joseph Parisien of Colville was sentenced to 82 months in federal prison for attempting to kidnap and assault his intimate partner at Spokane Tribe Casino in Airway Heights, Washington. The sentence includes 70 months for attempted kidnapping in Indian Country and 12 months for violating supervised-release conditions from an earlier conviction; he will also serve three years of supervised release after prison. Prosecutors said Parisien assaulted the woman at a friend’s home, then dragged her by her hair back to his truck at the casino after she tried to flee across the parking lot. Authorities located the woman in Spokane on April 29, 2024, and arrested Parisien the following day.
