Missing Texas Hiker Found Dead at Abrams Falls
Search teams recovered the body of 24-year-old Sahil Jilani, a Texas man who went missing in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, from the water at Abrams Falls. Jilani was last seen at a campground in Townsend on Oct. 5, and his car was found at the falls’ trailhead two days later. Officials have not released a cause of death; his family believes he drowned after being caught in powerful currents near the waterfall. His family is seeking support to bring him home to Houston and is urging greater awareness of waterfall safety.
