New Food Venues Planned in Raleigh, Lafayette, Stockton

The North Carolina State Fair will debut its 30,000-square-foot Midway Event Center in 2026, replacing the former Restaurant Row and serving as a food hall intended for year-round use. Five vendors are expected to operate there during the fair, including longtime fair favorites Hunnicutt’s and Jack’s Seafood, with plans for eight permanent food vendors in the future. The building features indoor and outdoor seating and was designed to draw inspiration from the nearby Dorton Arena. The fair is also planning attractions including the America 250 Wheel and more than 80 new food items.
