Orlando Stabbing Victim Critical, Suspect Arrested

A stabbing near Orange Avenue and Central Boulevard in downtown Orlando late Friday left one person with multiple wounds and in critical condition after emergency surgery. Orlando police say they detained 28-year-old Deaveon Jaquan Brown at the scene and arrested him after detectives reviewed surveillance footage and interviewed witnesses. Brown faces charges including attempted murder with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a weapon and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon; booking records cited in one report also list use of a weapon during a felony. He is being held without bond, and authorities have not disclosed what led to the stabbing or whether Brown and the victim knew each other. The investigation remains ongoing.
