Passenger Killed as Vehicle Crashes Into Two Ellsworth Homes

A vehicle crashed into two homes on Main Street in Ellsworth, Maine, shortly before 1:30 a.m. Thursday after the driver lost control near the Bucksport and Surry roads intersection. Passenger Paul Meservey, 23, of Orrington, died, while driver Landon Rockwell, 19, of Dedham, was ejected and taken to a hospital in Bangor. One person inside the second home was also taken to a hospital after reporting pain; the first home was unoccupied. The crash remains under investigation, and authorities are conducting a reconstruction; no charges have been reported.
