Fuld Declines Athletics’ Baseball Operations Offer

Phillies executive Sam Fuld declined the Athletics’ offer to lead their baseball operations department and will remain in Philadelphia, where he is a potential part of the club’s long-term leadership plans. The Athletics must continue searching after finishing 64-98, the league’s third-worst record, and the August departure of longtime general manager David Forst. Cubs assistant general manager Jared Banner was among the candidates previously reported to be under consideration. The Athletics are currently playing in West Sacramento and are preparing to move to Las Vegas in 2028.
